This is what the prestigious music magazine "JAZZ THING" (Sept./ Oct.2008) wrote about Christiana Uikiza s debut album:
"A new, fresh voice for us is the one of Christiana Uikiza. The born Romanian is certainly not new in the business, she sung in musicals in Zagreb and has a number one hit in the Croatian charts to prove it. We wonder what that song sounded like.
In any case, her debut album THIS TIME IT S DIFFERENT sounds very good. She presents herself as a singer / songwriter, writing the lyrics and composing the music to all her tracks together with multi-instrumentalist Christoph Burgstaller.
The songs are mostly acoustic, but colored with Fender Rhodes and e-guitar sounds; they are soft pop with a hint of jazz and blues. They are always very atmospheric and most of the time tend towards the quieter tones.
It is hard to classify Uikiza’s style. But her voice captures the audience. And her two songs in Romanian are in nice contrast to the twelve English tracks."
